I've been slacking a bit on my Living Dex challenge. Currently, I'm about halfway through the Johto bit of SoulSilver, but the game is so backloaded with new Pokemon that I've made hardly any progress.

Promise Mascot Agency is a game that kind of came out of nowhere for me. I hadn't seen much buzz for it, then randomly came across the steam page for it and decided to add it to my wishlist. It was recently on sale on Playstation so I picked it up there.

The Lesser Devil review

The Lesser Devil is a novella in the Sun Eater series set during the events of the first novel, Empire of Silence. It follows Crispin, Hadrian's brother, some thirty-four years after Hadrian disappears. I don't think it's strictly necessary to have read that novel first, but it definitely provides important context.

NHL 26

Every year, the sports games get me during the playoffs. One of my teams will get hot and make a run, and I'll get the urge to play that year's sports game. This year is no different, and currently the Flyers are making a run, so here I am once again playing the newest NHL game.

The Empire of Silence is Book one of Christopher Ruocchio's epic space opera The Sun Eater. It's a pretty strong debut, but also feels very much like a "first book in a very long series" book.

Videoverse is another in an increasingly popular genre of "fake OS" simulators that I think was really made popular by Hypnospace Outlaw. It's really a visual novel wrapped up in a retro computer interface, in the vein of the Emily is Away games. Like those games, this one was really relatable for me as a kid who spent much of the early and mid-2000s online.

Thoughts on the PRAGMATA Demo

PRAGMATA is the newest IP from Capcom that released recently and is doing really well. It reviewed super highly, and while all the pre-release stuff they put out was intriguing, it didn't really grab me. I finally decided to try the demo because I heard it was pretty short, and it really impressed me.

VIDEOVERSE is a visual novel/reading game in the vein of Hypnospace Outlaw, where you explore a fictional gaming community that feels like a combination of Myspace, MSN Messenger, and small gaming forums. These types of games really appeal to me, and VIDEOVERSE might be the one that nails the specific feeling of those times the best.

Old Skies is Wadjet Eye's latest point and click adventure game. I've been a fan of point and clicks for quite a few years now, and Wadjet Eye's are the cream of the crop.

Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon has been marketed as "indie Skyrim", and after playing for a little over an hour, it certainly feels like it.

Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert is the big new game of the year, and as I often do, I fell for the hype. I've played for just a few hours and have barely scratched the surface of the game. There are so many systems and mechanics that it's honestly a bit overwhelming.

Easy Deliver Co. is a simple game about delivering packages, with PS1-inspired graphics. It's cute, and it feels like there's definitely something more here than it seems at first glance, but it didn't really grip me.

Milo and the Magpies

Milo and the Magpies is a cute little point and click game about helping a cat find his way home. It's got some nice puzzles, great graphics, and some really good piano music.

Pokemon SoulSilver

Next up on my Pokemon Living Dex Challenge is Generation 2, with SoulSilver. Generation 2 is one I don't have a ton of memories with. I remember playing a ton of Pokemon FireRed, and Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, and then jumping ahead to Pearl and Black, but never really play Gold, Silver, or these remakes. I definitely had them, but for some reason this generation didn't get a ton of attention from me.
