I'm a big sucker for these Fake OS games, and Database Detective: Minor Crimes Division is another I've added to my wishlist. In this game, you play as a junior investigator solving various minor crimes. It's goofy, and maybe a little too meme-y for my tastes, but the concept is solid.

Instead of using deductive skills like Desktop Explorer or The Roottrees Are Dead, here you write SQL queries to manipulate data to help you solve crimes. For example, in one case you're given 5 databases each containing an attendee id, shared across the tables, and each table has its own unique data as well. You have to use the clues given to you to figure out which SQL queries to write to give you the perpetrator's name.

It's pretty fun, and I enjoyed my time with the demo. SQL is something I don't have a ton of experience in, but I've wanted to learn the concepts of it for work. I didn't think I'd be able to do that through a game. I'll likely pick this one up around release, depending on price.
